Since graduating with a degree in Multi Disciplinary Design, Judy has worked in the Audio Visual industry on graphic projects for the moving image, producing work for both single and multi screen presentations for corporate clients.

Having spent 20 years in the industry, a change in direction was needed which would use her existing design knowledge and experience and also encourage her broader interest in interiors. Using graphic design as the starting point, she began to experiment on textiles with digital print technology and the basis for the new brand was born.

“As a designer, I value the importance and the difference design can make in all aspects of our daily lives. I would like to push the boundaries of surface pattern design using the latest technologies, to increase customer base by focussing on customer service at all levels and to create a unique brand within the home interiors and fashion markets. I aim to produce classic products to be treasured by future generations. I do not subscribe to throwaway, consumerism. Nor do I wish to follow trends – I simply aim to produce quality classics, which will last well beyond fashions and become some of the collectibles and treasures for future generations.”

Judy uses the unique combination of expressive graphic design with digital print technology, which results in a new approach to surface design in both the home and fashion markets. It stems from a desire to break out of the predictable mould of patterns and motifs surrounding textile design with a particular interest in using words as a means to convey a visual message. With an instinctive sense of spatial layout and individuality, the use of photography, calligraphy, block colour and illustration typifies Judy’s work and attention to detail is often a key element in the design process.

Judy takes sketchbook ideas and transforms them into beautiful stylish designs incorporating many themes from urban and poetic to classical and iconic. Her ability to adapt to a wide variety of graphic media has resulted in some unique results not least of which is her latest venture.

Current products in the range include lampshades, place mats and coasters, wallpaper, silk cushions, wall art and silk scarves.

Future plans to develop into new product areas are already in the pipeline.
"The primary objective will be to transform predictable products into dynamic, desirable objects through interesting surface design. But it's not just about stylish imagery. For this we will need to incorporate new technologies with traditional skills. One of our greatest challenges to date has been to source suppliers within the UK and so far we have managed to do just that."
